Dr Louise Durrant RD
Sustainability and health go hand in hand. At Quorn, our active research portfolio and evidence-based nutrition communication play a crucial role in achieving this synergy. Understanding the potential health benefits of Quorn mycoprotein, alongside its nutritional composition and sustainability credentials, and effectively communicating these, is one way we can contribute to a healthier and more sustainable future.
Louise Durrant is a Registered Dietitian and is Nutrition Communications Manager at Quorn Foods. She holds both a BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics and a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Surrey. Louise was a recipient of the Nutrition Society’s Rising Star Award in 2021 and is currently also Co-Director of the European Nutrition Leadership Platform (ENLP) Essentials Programme.
Louise has experience in communicating evidence-based nutrition science to a wide variety of audiences. She has previously spent time within the food industry, focusing particularly on research and healthcare professional communications at Yakult UK, followed by a period within the not-for-profit sector at the British Nutrition Foundation where her role focused on the communication of nutrition science to a range of stakeholders, including the media.
At Quorn Foods, Louise is responsible for the planning and implementation of the Quorn Nutrition communications with relevant healthcare and nutrition professionals, including the dissemination of new research. Louise also leads on partnerships with health-related organisations and workforce nutrition education, and supports the wider business in nutrition related communications.
